🚀 WORDPRESS PLAYGROUND – STEP-BY-STEP PRACTICE GUIDE

🚀 WORDPRESS PLAYGROUND – STEP-BY-STEP PRACTICE GUIDE

🔹 STEP 1: Open WordPress Playground

👉 Go to:
https://playground.wordpress.net

You’ll see a fresh WordPress site load in your browser.

💡 This is a temporary sandbox — if you refresh, everything resets (which is great for practice).

🔹 STEP 2: Understand What You’re Seeing

On screen you’ll see:

  • Frontend website (your site)

  • WordPress admin already installed

To open admin:
➡ Add /wp-admin to the URL
➡ Login automatically (no password needed)

🔹 STEP 3: First-Time Dashboard Tour

In Dashboard, explore:

  • Posts

  • Pages

  • Appearance

  • Plugins

  • Settings

👉 Don’t rush. Click everything once.

🔹 STEP 4: Create Your First Pages (DO THIS)

Go to:
Pages → Add New

Create these pages:

  1. Home

  2. About Us

  3. Courses

  4. Contact

✔ Add heading text
✔ Add paragraph text
✔ Add an image (Media → Upload)

Click Publish on each.

🔹 STEP 5: Set Homepage (IMPORTANT)

Go to:
Settings → Reading

  • Select A static page

  • Homepage → Home

  • Save Changes

Now your Home page is live.

🔹 STEP 6: Create Menu (Navigation)

Go to:
Appearance → Menus

  • Create new menu → “Main Menu”

  • Add pages (Home, About, Courses, Contact)

  • Set location → Primary Menu

  • Save

Check frontend → menu visible 🎉

🔹 STEP 7: Install a Theme (TRY THIS)

Go to:
Appearance → Themes → Add New

Install & activate:

  • Astra OR

  • Neve

Now explore:

  • Appearance → Customize

  • Change colors, logo, header

💡 Playground supports themes normally.

🔹 STEP 8: Install Plugins (THIS IS THE FUN PART)

Go to:
Plugins → Add New

Install these one by one:

1️⃣ Elementor – Page Builder
2️⃣ Contact Form 7 – Forms
3️⃣ Yoast SEO – SEO basics

After install → Activate.

🔹 STEP 9: Build a Page with Elementor

Go to:
Pages → Home → Edit with Elementor

Practice:
✔ Add Heading
✔ Add Text Editor
✔ Add Button (WhatsApp CTA)
✔ Add Image

Try:

Don’t aim for perfection — explore.

🔹 STEP 10: Create Contact Form

Go to:
Contact → Add New

  • Add Name, Email, Message

  • Save

  • Copy shortcode

Paste shortcode into Contact page → Update

🔹 STEP 11: Practice a REAL Project (Recommended)

Build this inside Playground:

  • Home: Course overview

  • Courses: CMA / CPA details

  • Contact: Form + address

  • CTA: Call / WhatsApp

🔹 STEP 12: SAVE YOUR WORK (IMPORTANT)

Because Playground resets, export your site:

Go to:
Tools → Export → All Content

Download file → keep it safe.

Later you can import it anywhere.
